: Brain Korea 21(BK21) is a government scholarship program for the graduate studies in Korea that runs every 7 years since 1999 and aims to cultivate outstanding scholars
Who is the Participant?
: A full-time graduate student led by a professors participating in the BK21 project (less than two years master's degree and four doctorate years students)
Who is the Fellow?
: A participant who receives a scholarship
Benefits for Participants
- Support for domestic and overseas academic conference participation fees and expenses
- Support short-term (within two weeks) field trip expenses
- Support for participation in overseas education program

Support research activities
- Support publication fee of academic articles in a refereed-journal
- Provide incentives for publication of academic articles in a refreed-journal
- Hold colloquiums and special lectures by experts
- More opportunities to apply to competition for the participants (e.g. Social Engagement Organization)
- Thesis clinic service
- Provide a textbook (e-book) or statistical analysis software (e.g. STATA) within a range of price
- English writing editing service through the Virtual Writing Clinic (VWC)

- All benefits for participants except providing a textbook or statistical software
